The SAT 1 Reasoning Test is a standardized international test that measures critical, logical and analytical reasoning skills. Students applying for undergraduate programs in the U.S., Singapore, Canada and a number of other places are required to submit an SAT 1 Reasoning score as part of the application process.

The SAT 1 Reasoning Test contains 3 large sections, each of which split up in a number of subsections with the following question types:

  • The Critical Reading Section consists of 3 sub sections with questions regarding Reading Comprehension and Vocabulary.
  • The Quantitative Sections equally consists of 3 scored sub sections with both multiple choice and open questions pertaining to high school  mathematics.
  • The Analytical Writing Section splits up in 1 writing sample and 2 grammar related multiple choice sections.

Each of the above sections are worth 800 points and the total SAT 1 Reasoning score grades out of 2,400. Scores over 2,000 are considered excellent and will allow students to apply to the world’s top undergraduate programs.

The SAT 1 is a paper based test and is administered just 6 times yearly, in the months of January, May, June, October, November and December.
